Signal Grass Deferred Pastures Fertilized with Nitrogen or Intercropped with Calopo

چکیده
This study aimed to evaluate the accumulation, structural characteristics, and chemical composition of deferred signal-grass pastures that were subjected four treatments: without nitrogen fertilization, intercropped with calopo (Calopogonium mucunoides), fertilized urea N (50 kg ha−1 100 ha−1) for 2 years. The design was in randomized blocks, two blocks repetitions each treatment per block. There effects interaction between year on green dry mass, forage density vegetative tillers, crude protein content (simulated grazing). treatments height, falling index, mass/dead mass ratio, number dead, live total (direct cutting) also observed. Signal-grass–calopo-intercropping ensured adequate accumulation equivalent those pastures. In addition, pasture showed a higher percentage leaves compared other ratio highest only low dose nitrogen. Therefore, signal-grass–calopo-intercropping may be recommended deferment.

Four .8-ha pastures of bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon [L.] Pers.) were fertilized with either 456 or 873 kg/ha of nitrogen (N) from swine lagoon effluent (two replicates per treatment) and grazed by steers over two summers. Within each pasture, steers received forage only, an energy source (corn), a mixture of corn and soybean meal, or a mixture of corn and blood meal via electronic Calan feede...
متن کاملVitamin A status of ewes and lambs grazing nitrogen fertilized orchardgrass pastures.
Experiments described were conducted to define the vitamin A status of ewes and lambs grazing orchardgrass fertilized at various levels of N or N plus micro-elements. Four fertilizer treatments (56 kg N/ha; 168 kg N/ha; 504 kg N/ha; 504 kg N/ha + Co, Cu, Mo, Zn and S) were applied to replicated hay and pasture plots of Potomac orchardgrass on a Gilpin silt loam soil. Ewe lambs were allocated ra...
متن کاملAlkyl Phenols and Diethylhexyl Phthalate in Tissues of Sheep Grazing Pastures Fertilized with Sewage Sludge or Inorganic Fertilizer
We studied selected tissues from ewes and their lambs that were grazing pastures fertilized with either sewage sludge (treated) or inorganic fertilizer (control) and determined concentrations of alkylphenols and phthalates in these tissues. Mean tissue concentrations of alkylphenols were relatively low (< 10-400 microg/kg) in all animals and tissues. Phthalates were detected in tissues of both ...

This experiment evaluated forage production, sward structure, stocking rate, weight gain per area and nutritive value of forage as grazed by beef heifers on Alexandergrass (Urochloa plantaginea (Link) Hitch) pasture fertilized with nitrogen (N): 0; 100; 200 or 300 kg of N/ha. The experiment was a completely randomized design following a repeated measurement arrangement. The experimental animals...
